When to not start a diet....

There are a few times in life when you should never try to start a diet. An example you ask? When you are on your period!! Natures way of ruining everything. I unknowingly did this last week. On Wednesday, I was feeling super bloated and all I wanted was candy. I really thought it was all in my head, because let's face it, when you start a diet everything bed for you looks so much more appealing. On Thursday, Aunt Flo stopped in, and I was actually relieved. So today I've got a fresh start. Hopefully this week will look much better than last weeks junk fest!

Yesterday was great! (almost)

I started out the day so great! For breakfast I had a protein shake, and had about 300 calories in it. Lunch was really good. Five chicken nuggets with a little ketchup, an apple, an orange, and strawberry applesauce, all for about 500 calories. I got to do a half hour workout. (I love the on demand workout fios and comcast have)  And over the course of the day I had about 6 glasses of water. Dinner, well that's a different story. I made hamburger helper. Not really anything healthy about it. I had planned on making that for the rest of the family, and having something else. But I gave into temptation and ate it. The worst part is that it was awful, but I still had an entire bowl. And if that wasn't bad enough I had a can of soda. I knew I'd feel bad as soon as I did it, but that didn't stop me. Very frustrating. I truly believe the hardest thing about dieting is having to make food for other people, and simple living with other people in general. There are always snacks in the house, we always have soda, and nobody else wants to eat healthy.
I can't go back and change yesterday, but I can make today better.

All about my life and the purpose of this blog.

Hi all!
I wanted introduce myself and let everyone know why I am here doing this.
I'm a 22 year old wife and mom of two beautiful children. My husband, Justin, and I started dating in 2005.
In April of 2008 we found out that I was pregnant. It was a surprise, but we were both very happy. On November 12, 2008 I gave birth to Emily Claire weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces.
My first mother's day was awesome! That was the day Justin proposed. We knew we didn't want to wait long for the wedding, and we quickly set a date. Planning the wedding was somewhat stressful, but in the end everything turned out beautifully. We were married on January 2, 2010. (01-02-2010)
Our honeymoon was in Cancun, Mexico. We spent a wonderful week there and got to see some amazing things. (My favorite was La Isla Mujeres)
On February 15, 2010 I found out that I was expecting again. Honeymoon baby. James William came into this world on October 9, 2010 (My son and I share our birthday) weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces. (both of my children were born at the same weight)
 He completed our family.

The reason why I'm doing this? In the picture at the beginning of this post I was 16, and weighed about 115 pounds. That was 6 years ago, and I want to be that skinny again. I've gained weight from two children, a marriage, and laziness. My goal is to get back to 115 pounds by January 1, 2012. That's about 40 pounds I have to lose. I know it's going to take some hard work, but I am up for the challenge!
